Web Graphic Designer [Apply Now]
AliveTek is a growing eLearning company seeking energetic, creative and detail-oriented Web design students, new graduates or hungry artists. This position will support the eLearning design/development team. Candidates must have the following skills and interests:
- Layout design using PowerPoint, Photoshop and Dreamweaver
- Flash animation and emerging ActionScript skills
- Eye for basic artistic design elements
- Understand and apply use of typography
- Strong communication skills for editing, writing and quality controlling content
- Willingness to gain real-life experience in a high-paced web design environment
When applying, answer the following:
1. In general, what kind of experience do you have with client-side Web design?
a. What tools do you use?
b. How do you approach Web design? What do you do first? What information do you feel is most important to produce a good design?
c. How do you test?
2. How have you, and how do you, learn about Web design?
a. Did you learn most of what you know from taking classes, work experience, or personal experience?
b. Do you find yourself going back to certain sites for information or inspiration? Is so, what are they?
c. What was the last Web site that impressed you? What was impressive about it?
3. What kind of experience do you have with server-side Web or other development?
a. How do you develop? With what set of tools are you most comfortable?
b. What kinds of applications or services have you developed? What languages did you use? Were you already familiar with the necessary languages or did you need to learn them while working on the project?
c. With what programming language, or languages, are you most comfortable? What is it about this, or these, languages that you like most?
4. Is there a Web design or Web development project that you are currently working on, or would like to work on, that is unrelated to work or school responsibilities? Describe it? (This can be real or hypothetical.)
